Hi Team,
I would like some hardware recommendations for a new Epicor Setup ( VM )
I am running Epicor V10 and planning to migrate to Kenetic in a year.
We are about 200 users.
My sales team complain the system is slow… I am not sure if its the old hardware or the customization of Epicor.
With the New system i want to make sure Epicor is as Fast as possible. Any Suggestions ?
That’s honestly a tough question to answer without A LOT more information. For Example
Compared to what? Other systems they have used? How it used to be? Since version X or Y of Epicor. Compared to a lot of other systems Epicor is comparatively slow. Especially for Sales folks to maneuver.
Could have the best most advanced hardware on the planet but if database maintenance is poor it will still bottleneck.
Certainly possible. There are many ways to shoot yourself in the foot with customization. This element comes down to troubleshooting and doing time studies with the base screens or with BPMs disabled for testing purposes.
In addition to @jgiese.wci comments that slow is relative. Epicor has a sizing guide on EpicWeb for VM and consultants that just do hardware. I went to a session at Insights that was very good. SSDs are a must along with the lowest latency CPUs you can afford since Epicor is small bursts of data.
