Going straight from 5.2 to 6.1?

Depending on the size of your database, and the speed of your server, you
should be able to upgrade in one day. I've converted databases from 4.0 -
6.1 in (total actual converting time) 30 hours or less.

I did this but not to be misleading. What I did was go from 5.2 to 6.0,
open a client on 6.0, check control data, then go from 6.0 to 6.1, all in 1
day.

We went directly from 5.2 to 6.1 with Epicor doing the data base
conversion over Good Friday weekend. No real problems.

Stephen,

I did it this last weekend. I highly recommend setting up on a test
server, document, and time your steps. It took me 10 hrs to get through
even with this preparation. Most of the time was waiting for backups,
and schema changes. I ran into problems with customized Crystal
reports. I also had a problem with Posting. I had to increase my "L"
value in progress explorer to correct this. I still have not got my
distributed reports working.

Also there is an intermediate step of converting all the data to 6.0.

All in all it went well, although, I have much better ways to spend my
summer Saturdays.
