I’m trying to set up a new account in my G/L. I’m receiving this message. Anyone have any thought to what I need to do???
Thanks!! (I can’t tell if the image will show - error message comes up after I enter the new account number - before I can input the description - and says “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”.
Could have been a server issue right at the time you were trying to create
the new account. I would log out and back in and try it again
Does not appear you have any customizations on this form but if it happens
consistently there may be a database record already out there for that GL
Account or something similar
Log out and try it again. Also check is it just for that GL account or
does it happen when trying to create another GL account?
Thanks. Logging out didn’t help. The number doesn’t already exist. I tried with every number in the sequence between 22151 and 22159 and received the same message. (Trying to put it between 22150 and 22160).
Segments are all valid. Original accounts were all entered by the 3rd party team when we converted from V6.1 to E10. I don’t know if it transferred as they did each conversion from 6.1 to 10 or if they used another method??? Right now, I’m just trying to use File/New and enter the new number with tab/enter. We went live at the end of June and this is the first time I’ve needed to add an account.
It’s something to do with the conversion. There is a database problem
somewhere with the GL Segments (although they are all there and display
properly) or there is a database error with a blank GL Account in the
database
When you do a search for existing GL accounts, in your search box, do you
see any records where there is no GL Account and a description or perhaps a
blank line?
It maybe a conversion program or a fix from Epicor that needs to be run. I
would call support
Thanks, Mark. Just asked our outside IT company to get on the horn with Epicor and see if they can get this fixed. I sure appreciate all your suggestions! Have a good one!
