Getting Job Subassembly to schedule before needed

Hi All,

E9.05.702A

I have an odd requirement, at least odd to me.

I’m working with someone who has jobs with many subassemblies that also have many subassemblies.
They have a scenario where they want a particular subassembly to schedule a start date way before the it’s needed, as define by the schedule of the rest of the job.
For example, the job schedule dictates that this particular subassembly isn’t needed until May and it only has 100 machine hours to complete but they want this subassembly to be schedule to start in March so that it is completed and is sitting on the shelf before it’s needed in May.

The need for this unusual scheduling need is related to machine capacity availability.
Is there some type settings that I can use to force the schedule to make the start date sooner than needed?

Jose, update the Receive Days to an appropriate amount so it schedules the end date as appropriate. As a rule, the Due Date is typically the day before the date on which you will ship (or use) the part. To calculate
the Due Date, the scheduling engine uses the Required By Date and subtracts the Receive Days.
