I created an enhancement request back while I was at Design Standards.
The request was to add an "inactive" check box to basically every master
file. It also included making the "inactive" status prevent an item
from being used even if the user directly types in id. I think parts of
this request have been filled, but if you call support, they should
still have it around. If not, if you create one similar to this, I will
be happy to add my name.

Description / Steps to reproduce:

SUGGESTED ENHANCEMENT:

"Hide" / "De-Activate" records.
The item should not been seen on 'any' screen.
The item should not be available for 'add' functions.
The item should still be valid for qry's, history, etc.

You just won't see them or be able to choose them when adding anything
to
the system.

The Master Table update screens should have a "View" function that would
allow you to see either "Active" --OR-- "Inactive" records.

Also a database purge and summarize ,mark inactive, delete record, zz-do
not
use description, add vbform field to exclude from crystal or
reportbuilder
reports.

Parts, revisions, work centers, warehouses, customers, part classes,
inspectors, purchasing agents, etc...
