From Vantage 8.00.809G to Vantage 8.00.810B-prod configurator

To Alan Jensen- I'd like to know what you mean when you say your product configurator got hosed up. Can you provide more details?
We also ran into problems when we upgraded from 809G but we were able to fix this because we had formula calculations in our On-Leave rules. We needed to initialize everything to zero because vantage has a weird way of returning back a ? and assigning to values or fields when it goes south on calculations. Why this broke when we applied .810B patch I don't know but I took out the formulas initially as a workaround and then entered a line like this- this came from an Epicor Prod configurator support person who suggested the following initialization of our values after I pointed out where the problem was coming from
IF P01_DEC_QWATER = ? THEN P01_DEC_QWATER = 0.
Thanks

Just a little note about patch 810b.

There is a accounting issue with unreceipt of parts that are direct
to jobs. It will create some odd entries in the gl accounts that are
accounting says balance. The system totals part burden rate and
material rate in one account and the backs it out on the other
account. If you do not use Part Burden rate then you will not see the
problem.

We have found that mrp fix to put the dates on outside processing,
when you do not have company configuration set to allow historical
dates, that have been blank for several patches creates a very slow
mrp run and slow job scheduling when you try to rescedule jobs with
outside processing. Note: We do not have the advanced scheduling
module and do not know if this is part of the bug. I have tested
this on 8.03 patch 305b and found that mrp is very slow but jobs do
schedule fast when thay are rescheduled. Support has send out new
mrp files to replace the old mrp engine, etc. and this solved the
problem with the speed. They were trying to release the patch on
305b but I do not think they made it on the patch reading the release
fix file. Maybe 305c!

I am probably to late for you but we only had one problem so far. Our
product configurator got majorly hosed up. But everything else seems to be
working fine. Actually we came from 809b and it fixed a lot of our problems
we were having on the accounting side. One last thing we noticed in labor
entry now you can only see operations that are not set to backflush. Very
cool thing but it freaked us out at first because we thought we lost a bunch
of operations in our MOM's.

Thanks

Alan
