How does Epicor chose which one to pull from?
I believe it is the Make Direct checkbox on the Order Release Tab that determines.

Correct, what others have said - Make Direct checkbox on the Sales Order Release tab.
However, we have had several instances where even though it seems as if everything was done correctly to perform a Make Direct, Epicor still wants to ship from Inventory as opposed to from Manufacturing in Customer Shipment Entry. To fix this, we have found that going to Job Entry and deleting and re-adding the demand link (Make To Order) seems to resolve our issue. I wish I could figure out the root cause of why that happens, but so far I haven’t been able to…

@pmarques Have you found any reasons why this happens? Is it somewhat random for you or only within one customer/part/etc?
I haven’t been able to figure out what triggers it.
Do you have your manufactured part checked as nonstock in the part master? This will cause make direct check on the order release.
