Forklift computers losing connection only with Epicor software

Hi, Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing Epicor losing connection on their forklift computers. We recently upgraded our forklift computers to Glacier Kodiak VMT-12 PCAP and upgraded our wireless access points to Cisco Aironet 1852E IEEE 802.11ac WAP. Now our forklift drivers tend to lose their connection to Epicor randomly as they are driving around. They can stay connected to the same access point and lose connection or they can roam from one access point to another and also lose connection. We have tweaked many of the settings on the Access Points themselves and the wireless card settings in the computers. Just wondering if anyone has tweaked any of the client settings in Epicor to improve on connections being dropped. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks so much!

Unfortunately something like that is not really an Epicor adjustment but adjustments required with the wireless. I see they are AC devices you don’t need that level of speed to run Epicor I would dial it back to G wireless and see how the devices hold up there. Slower, but more stable long range connection.

I would completely agree with @jgiese.wci statement. When roaming, and warehouse size spaces are involved, not to mention the giant signal suckers that is racking, I would go G or N at best. All 2.4gHz. Stay off 5gHz unless you saturated the crap out of the wireless. I mean like every 30 feet or so. 5gHz wireless is not your friend in a production facility. Ever.

Thank you both very much. I believe you gave me all the information that was needed to make the final tweaks to our wireless network for our Forklift computers. So far so good. Our signals our holding. Thanks again! You guys (Joshua Giese and Thomas Curtis) are wonderful:>)

Also, when you get to E10 < cough > and use https binding, the disconnects become much less of an issue. :smirk:
