You asked for any ideas.........this is really ugly, but.......

The only way I can think of to "clean" POSTED data is to enter reversing
entries for ALL those invoices. Credit memos and debit memos respectively.
Then re-enter those invoices.
Then there is the issue of all those invoices that have already been
paid....... void the checks? Seems to me, the sweeping General Ledger
entries are the best way to deal with posted data. This year will be
memorable one way or another. Did support have any brainstorms for you?

Purged GL history for 2002 and tried to edit Fiscal periods. No go. Still
seeing the invoices that have the incorrect fiscal year and period
referenced.

Any other ideas? Anyone?

We haven't done this exact thing, but we just finished converting to a
Calendar year from a fiscal. It Doesn't sound too bad, but we had to reuse
some old fiscal periods which involved purging some GL data. I would assume
you could run some GL reports from your Singapore office and then purge out
the GL data for the two months, no big deal really, and then ditch the last
two periods for 2002, change your fiscal year to be 10 months and put in
2003. then enter your begging balances reflecting the information from your
GL reporting. ???

10/31/02. No problem, we just changed the number of periods in Fiscal
Period
maintenance from 12 to 10. Then, created 2003 with the correct 12 periods.
Worked great.

Except...

We forgot to make this change in our Singapore division. So, we have been
posting merrily along for November and December under the old fiscal period
structure. Since we've posted we can't go back and change...you know the
drill.
Long story short, we need Singapore to be able to match the corporate fiscal
year.

Has anyone else committed this blunder? If so, how was the problem
resolved?
Any ideas?
