First Article inspection

Good Morning,

Is anyone doing first article inspection in Epicor? Are you doing it for some purchased parts too? It looks like Epicor first article is solely geared towards jobs only, not purchased parts. We need to be able to track first article inspection for parts bought from suppliers.

Yes, we use first article and it is only for production. I believe you could use Skip Lots to get what you need.

@jkane Hmm, that’s fascinating. I never thought about it for this use. I used to work in QA (as the incoming purchased part inspector) and I remember asking the same questions as Nancy but no one had an answer. This was before I inherited the Epicor admin job or ever heard of this site.

At first it seems like a lot of setup, but I guess for any PPAP you should be doing this work anyway.
