Failed parts on Shop Floor

We have Epicor 10.1.600, what is the correct procedure in Epicor to track a failed/damaged component part on the shop floor associated with a Job ?

The “right” way is probably with a non-conformance assuming you have the quality module.

An easier way, If you haven’t completed the operation yet, is to report that qty as scrap. (there is a box for that on end activity). If you need to make a replacement part after you completed the operation (because you didn’t realize it was bad at the time original qty completion), we always just report the replacement good one as scrap. Is that “right”? I don’t know. It keeps our inventory correct and for us, that’s good enough. If you have more stringent quality controls in your industry, probably not.
