Fail to upgrade EDD from 10.2.500.16 to 10.2.500.18

Hi, the EDD installer is giving us an error when we are trying to upgrade EDD from 10.2.500.16 to 10.2.500.18. Is there a way to run the install but ignore the backup portion?

Thank you,

@Will79 had the same issue (or similar) sounds like it might be a bug

I was not able to find a way around it. I was going to 10.2.600.4 and someone told me it was a bug that was fixed in 10.2.600.5. Haven’t tried it yet. Sorry I am not more help. Epicor tech support is still working on it.

Looks like there is a KB for this: Knowledge Base - EpicCare

That worked for me!!

Hi,

do you have the KB article number. the link states is not found.

@Neverunmacron If I logon to EpicCare first the link works, but otherwise it fails.

KB is KB0100092

Resolution

This error normally means the EDD Database Name already exists.
If that’s the case, before you can deploy EDD, you need to either

  1. Delete the EDD DB in SQL Server
  2. Specify a new EDD DB name

thank you!

We just upgraded to 10.2.600.10 this morning and this was still and issue.
The KB worked, though.

The installer tries to backup the SQL database to the EDD path on the app server. In Michel’s case F:\Epicor\Websites\Data Discovery2
That’s not a valid directory on the SQL server. A work around is to create that directory on the SQL server then the backup will be successful and EDD will finish.
