F6 Print screen

Mark,

The printscreen feature saves alot of our employees alot of time. When
parts are entered into the system, we use it to give a manager a paper copy
for review. When a user has a question about a confusing situation, they
bring a printscreen of the various screens to the manager, who is many times
away from his computer.

When a redline is reviewed by management, a printscreen of the where used
information is included.

It is much faster to review your work from a paper printout than from on the
computer screen. And it's the only efficient way for a Tracker user to
suggest changes to read-only data.

It may be that they are hitting F6 for the sole purpose of wasting paper,
but that seems unlikely. It could be because they are used to F6 as a
hotkey for a particular old dos function, but if the user is continuously
printing screens, it's probably because the user feels that they need a
paper printout to better perform their job description.

Just my 1.5 cents

~Thaddeus

P.S. If you are truly bent on saving paper, make sure they don't have any
of the hundreds of printscreen utilities that are freely downloadable from
the web, that will capture the whole screen, so they can get two or three
vantage windows on one page.

My favorite is at www.ScreenPrint32.com

That's pretty slick, but what would you need to do to replace it in the

The way I disabled it is only good if your user is not a computer savvy
user. On the machine you want to disable print screen on. Open the file
types option in My computer or Explorer. Open the BMP association and
remove the Print and Printto functions. This will stop F6 from printing.

No, a search for eManufacturing didn't reveal vantage, just the eMFG Group.
Described as,

eManufacturing (Vantage). Marketing services is acceptable, but with in
reason. Any member sending large volumes of marketing messages will result
in removal from the group. Any complaints by users of poor service can also
