Below is how we set up our codes in AdvancedShip. From my
understanding, ExpressShip is a stripped down version from the same
vendor (no promises though). The Mapped Code is in AdvancedShip, the
ShipVia is in Vantage.

As of the date we set this up, Vantage limited you to 4 characters,
so that is why all our codes are no longer than 4 characters. Also,
the codes in AdvancedShip are not user defineable. Otherwise, I
haven't had any complaints from Shipping, but that's not to say that
we couldn't have done a better job with some of them. Overall, I
think they worked out just fine.

Insite is the name of the 3rd part vendor that developed it. They
are out of Minneapolis, MN. They have been helpful and responsive.

Lastly, the AdvancedShipping software has to be one of the coolest
options that we purchased. If you do a lot of truck shipments,
you'll be extremely pleased.

We have decide to move forward with this package. The standard module
handles the transfer of ship-to addresses from order entry to the shipping
module. It passes back the freight costs and the UPS/Fed Ex tracking
information automatically upon shipment. Big time savings for us since we
ship almost exclusively with UPS and their Worldship software.

Downside is the system does not automatically pass third party account
numbers. Many of our larger customers want us to bill their UPS or FedEX
account. You still have to enter the information as a note in order entry
and hope shipping read the note and accurately entered the account number.

The mod to automatically pass third part account information will cost $750
if we go it alone. If anyone else goes for this the cost is $750 plus $375
for the other participant (750 + 375 = $1125 split two ways or 562.50 each).

It is supposed to generate Tracking Numbers. My installation got side
tracked due to other issues. I will let you know if/when we get back to it.
