Kinetic Version 2022.1
In the smart client import/export of layouts is quite straightforward. You go to settings>Home Page and import/export is very intuitive. Running the Kinetic interface on the smart client is very slow for us, but the web interface is quite snappy. Since Epicor is forcing all of us to the Kinetic interface we would like to make the transition to the web client as part of our move. This will help provide the carrot to our users frustrated that they have to learn something new… it’s faster!
I’ve done a bit of searching through the board and help docs but have not figured out how to import/export layouts in the web client. It’s super helpful to allow LOBs to develop layouts specific to their groups and then test it with another user before going through all the effort to set up a security code and publish it.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to import/export home page layouts from the web interface? If so, how?
It’s simply not an option in the web interface. Here’s the answer I got from support last month.
Unfortunately this feature is not available yet in the web ui. Development already has this reported in KNTC-11805 for possibly a future release. Below is the description of KNTC-11805.
KNTC-11805 - Homepage Layout Management UI
Description: Users and administrators can completely manage their homepage layouts from a web based ui without the classic settings screens.
Currently the new homepage does not provide UI to import, export, or publish homepage layouts which is only available in a classic ui. The new ui provides only this at present to switch ui which shows layouts, but does not provide all capabilities.

Thanks @johnnyhays. I’m glad I’m not the only one that has found this issue and questioned it.

As @johnnyhays said, it wasn’t built in. The interesting thing is Active Home Page was Epicor’s first web-based project leading up to EDD and eventually the Kinetic UI. They probably need to circle back and improve the shell.
