Examples of Direct BO calls with vb.net desired

Thanks Jose,

Found it and used the online converter I saw you pointed out in another post http://www.developerfusion.com/tools/convert/csharp-to-vb
to switch the code.

Hi all,

I am looking to find examples in vb.net(if possible) of Direct Business Object calls. We are on 9.0.5.602A at this time and I wish to mimic in customization code the calls done by running a trace.

I am familiar with Service Connect but realize from reading many forum entries that coding is more desireable (efficiency/dependability factors).

Thank you,

From customization mode, open the 'Custom Object Explorer'. Click the
'Adapter' tab and the 'Get Adapters' button.

If you expand any adapter and select a method it will show you the code you
need to call it.

Note that you may need to add refernces if the adapter you want isn't native
to the form you're working on.

Thank you for your help.

Now the learning curve of setting/passing the correct properties between the calls begins..

I'm familiar with this pain from Service Connect in the past.

I've never used service connect but I'd image that a helpful tool in
both scenarios is the BL tester.

The BL tester works with the actual BO instead of the adapter but it is
helpful in understanding how the adapters work.

Typically, I only use adapters if I need user interaction but if I want
to totally automate with no user interaction then I will use the BO
instead.

Arguably it might be a little more complicated but you have a "finer"
control over the process.

I've seen the BL Tester - there's screenshots of it in the Files section.

It looks like a great tool to get "intimate" with the parameters in and out of a BO.

I believe it is part of the SDK and a costly tool to get.

Am I wrong?

Subject: Re: [Vantage] Examples of Direct BO calls with vb.net desired

From customization mode, open the 'Custom Object Explorer'. Click the
'Adapter' tab and the 'Get Adapters' button.

If you expand any adapter and select a method it will show you the code
you need to call it.

Note that you may need to add refernces if the adapter you want isn't
native to the form you're working on.
