I had the same problem on a new install when I applied the 605 upgrade
before I had installed the client.
I just started the install again but there's probably quicker solutions.

There was a post last week(?) about the client files going missing after
the upgrade to 605, sounds similar to your error. It included details
on re-installing the files, and I think an Epicor documentation update
was in progress for it.

Subject: [Vantage] Error when trying to launch Epicor 9.05.605 client
I've got a brand new install of 9.05, Progress on 32 bit Server 2003
R2. I've installed the client on my workstation (32 bit Vista) but when
trying to launch receive the following message:
"Could not find AutoUpdate.exe" file
It then references the path of where it should reside on the server
under the client folder. I've searched and this file doesn't exist
there. Any ideas?
