Yesterday we installed the latest patch to our 5.0 system. It all seemed
to go well.
However, when I opened any file I would get an error message noted as
Errno=22 reading promsgs file may have been deleted.
Initially I just kept clicking on the error message until it went away.
Finally I exited Vantage and then reopened. It went away.
I did call support regarding this error and an incident number was issued,
see above. They sent me the following email with a problem resolution. I
have referenced it below.
PROBLEM RESOLUTION:
1) Have them verify the setting of their environemnt variables.
Specifically, DLC= in the Vantage.ini must point to the mapped Progress
folder. (i.e. DLC=V:\Progress)
Making sure user is not using a separate Vantage.ini. file found on
workstation.
2) If a Win95 or Win98 workstation, verify that the SET DLC= statement in
the Autoexec.bat file is correct. If there is not one in the Autoexec.bat
file that is OK.
3) Another problem that could cause this error is a permission problem
with the Progress folder. Perhaps user has no access to the Progress folder.
Verify user or user is a part of a group that has permissions to the
Progress folder.
4) If those look okay have them set PROMSGS=$DLC\promsgs. Make sure the
file exists in the directory specified with the correct name. '
** If the user is using a unique Vantage.ini file, the above statement could
be put into the [STARTUP] section and have it point to the local C:\Vntgwork
folder. Then place a copy of the C:\Epicor\Progress\Promsgs file into the
C:\Vntgwork folder.
STEPS:
1) Create a directory in c:\vntgwork
(i.e. c:\vntgwork\promsgs)
2) Copy the PROMSGS file from V:\Progress folder and paste into the
local
C:\Vntgwork\promsgs folder.
3) Edit the Vantage.Ini file after the PROPATH line and add the
entry:
PROMSGS=C:\vntgwork\promsgs\promsgs
** NOTE: If the parameter PROMSGS= is added to the Vantage.INI
file, then you
MUST perform step 1 & 2 on every
workstation.
