EPICORTEMP Folder Files

As far as I know they are safe to clean up.
I realised it happens mostly after BAQ that crash.
Mostly they get clean when the appservers are stopped bit if not its safe to delete when the appservers are stopped.

Epicor 904.507a

On our production server, in the EPICORTEMP folder, we have about 10 files that begin with srt****** that are large 2GB+. Anyone have an idea what these are? I am concerned about disk space and want to get rid of them. For what its worth, we just patched over the weekend from 506B to 507A and never noticed these until now. All of these large files have dates after the patch.

Thanks in advance.

Progress sorts data resulting from queries in these files. The
location for these files I believe is based on the Progress Working
Directory configured in the AppServer properties, so you could move this
to another drive by changing the working directory for the appserver and
restarting it.

Its not clear to me whether Progress actually cleans these up, or how
reliably. Sometimes they go away by themselves, sometimes not. They
are safe to delete if they're not open by an active process.

Every weekend we stop the apps and db by a script and delete these temp files as
they serve no purpose (lots of them just hang on for no reason). It doesn't
matter if they are deleted if everything is stopped (I dont think).

They are created for al sorts of reasons such as when BAQs bomb out, the temp
data is all held in that folder.

I THINK this is what happens anyway - this is what Epicor told me.
