Can someone tell me what all is store in the “Users” folder in Epicor3Data? I noticed that when I create positivepay file, it automatically create a user folder name for me and put the file in there. Doesn’t seem like I can redirect where to save the positive pay file or able to download it unless I go to this folder. Trying to understand what all goes into this folder and if we need to allow our users to get to their “Users” folder under the Epicor3Data folder or if there’s other ways of getting to these files inside of Epicor.
Crystal XML files, background process (as in, things that run through the system monitor but isn’t a report) log files (MRP, global scheduling, etc), bartender output files by default, Financial Report designer files, BAQ export process files, etc.
In 10.1.400 we restricted where many of these files could be output to only be within the epicordata folder for security reasons within our Cloud, and that change applies to on-premise customers as well. Can’t really redirect where most of these files are written.
You do NOT need to share epicordata\users folder. There is a menu item within Epicor called Server File Download that your users can use to download any files from their User folder to their machine all within the Epicor ERP client–you don’t need to grant them explict read/write access to the epicordata\users folder.
Thank you for that info. That’s what I was hoping that there’s a way our users can download from within Epicor ERP client. I don’t see this “Server File” option available. Can you direct me to where this is or do I need to turn it on? I am on 10.2.100.
Ah I found it under System Management–>Schedule Processes. Thanks again.
