Epicor10 Custom Reports

Question 1 - I have created many custom reports in my EpicorTest. I have a couple questions. When I want to move them to the live - do I actually have to move them? Is there an easy way to keep a copy in test?
Question 2 - when I move to Live - do I have to update all the paths to the custom reports folder again?
Question 3 - Are these reports backed up with the Epicor10 backup processes - or do I need to include a specific folder in my backup sets?

Answers are quick here - way better then any Epicor support.

Yes you actually have to move them. You can do this with a tool like ReportSync for ease of use.
I believe you need to re-point the datasource on the reports to the correct environmnet.
The reports themselves (RDL’s) are not backed up with the database, so you will need to make sure to include that in your backup strategy.

They are included in what should be a regular backup of your ReportServer database and is it pretty easy to pull a report of out of a database restore should you need to restore a report.

News to me! Would you be able to show that? I always thought they were separate

Here is recovering a single report - I have used this a few times in the past for helping to restore missing reports and no copy of RDL anywhere.

I would also suggest looking into Solution Workbench to migrate reports from a test database to live. You can include the .rdl files in the Solution and it will automagically point your datasources to the live environment.

There isn’t an explicit option for exporting the rdl files in Solution Workbench. Select the Report Style records and the workbench will ask if you also want to include the .rdl files.

The best way I have found it to create a solution. It works the best and never had issues.
