Epicor Web Access

I use a program called JUMP to access Epicor on my iPad.  There are numerous programs that will emulate RDP and some are free .  What I like about JUMP is the mouse. Most of the programs will require a VPN connection.

Hi All,

Has anyone loaded Epicor Web Access (EWA)? I'm working on installing Epicor Web Access on a Windows 8 64-bit web server with IIS 7 that will be working with 32 bit Epicor 9.05 606 running Progress. I followed the EWA install instructions and it appears that IIS 7 and EWA are loaded correctly. When I do a test connect Windows IE says the web page cannot be found. I'm beginning to think that possibly the problem may be on the Progress set up. Does anyone know where I would need to look on the Progress side to see if it is set up properly? Any ideas on what I may have overlooked in IIS 7 or on the web server?

Thanks!

We have it installed on a W2K8-64-bit and running SQL – not problems with any of the configuration.
Have you installed all the assemblies into the IIS?

I have loaded Epicor Web Access in the past, just following the install
instructions, not sure where you went wrong but for what is worth is
unusably slow. Even some of the Epicor people have told me its unusable in
anything but firefox and that is still terribly slow.

I've opted to use an ODBC connection using ADODB from PHP to get to th e epicor data. Works very nicely. I would advice against doing any type of updates to records through it other than maybe a customer or specific contact record. But if you're looking to provide information to your customers it's a nice way to do it.

I have a Question on Epicor Web Access. I have installed and seems to work fine on my desktop.  But mainley wanted to use it on Ipad's for the sales team can look at dashboards.   I spoke to Epicor and there tell me Epicor Web access will not work on Ipads. Has anyone found that to be the case?

I am Running Epicor 905.702 64 SQL

If Epicor says it won't work.... then it probably wont. However in E10 all that might be changing. Also Epicor Web Access in 9x is a giant ugly unusable beast that no one should ever dare touch.

They have problems with browsers on Apple and ARM based hardware being unstable.

I have seen it used on an iPad, sort of…

I have seen someone use an RDP client to run IE on a terminal server from an iPad.

But that is the only way I know of it to work, and at that point, why not use the full client on the TS? I don’t know but it’s what they did.
