We would like to integrate Epicor with UPS.
Our knowledge is limited, it seems the platform to do so is called WorldShip.
I reached out to EpicCare and they referred us to our Client Account Manager.
It seems they sell the integration with QuickShip/Agile.
If anyone is familiar with this concept, could you please share your wisdom?
@Shizar115 You can write an integration with WorldShip, but Epicor owns QuickShip and the integration is out of the box and QuickShip keeps adding more features to make it even tighter with Epicor like freight rates from inside sales orders.
You could write something custom but QuickShip works really well. Integrates with all major carriers and handles everything from domestic shipping to filling international paperwork. Itâs pretty easy to setup and get working too.
I agree with everyone else, you can certainly do your own integration with World Ship but Quick Ship is a good product that works really well and will save you a ton of development and troubleshooting time with upgrades. I would vouch that in the long run it would be much cheaper.
reinventing the wheel is always more expensive. I have seen people go down the road of âwe can write that interface to âxyx productââ, only to find that they spend THOUSANDS of dollars to build in inferior product that they must maintain. Examples of this include trying to build a better UPS integration, a better Sales Tax integration, etc. In the end, I have also seen customers decide after 2-3 years to purchase Epicorâs prebuild integration because they could not get their custom integration to a satisfactory level.
Both Quickship and Avalara are good products that are well integrated.
We used Worldship/Agile combination for 5 years and have moved to Quickship. Quickship does a lot more. With the extra features, its more of a pain to maintain though. Worldship took care of itself very well.
We have looked at QuickShip numerous times but have not ventured down that path yet. We integrate UPS Worldship through Service Connect (since 2013). If we were building it from the ground up, we would probably use APIâs. UPS has been very helpful in creating the input/output files needed.
