I use the fathom http://yourserver:9090/fathom.htm a lot. You can see long running abandoned processes or one that is using a lot of memory or cpu. Myself and IT have it open all day.
I also monitor the load on the sql server to see if it has spikes in cpu.
Is there a log file I can look at and does it show anything?
You can get the TechRef_PerformanceTuningDiagnostic_905702 guide that will show you how to use the Performance Diagnostic Tool to check your system and to give you a baseline to test against. It will check your configuration, give you server response times and you can use trace files from PC to find issues.
We used this a lot. We also separated out print appservers from our client appservers to give the clients their own space. An added benefit of this is that if you have issues the print, process and task appservers can be restarted without stopping users.
Greg
You can do trace log in Epicor and view through Epicor Diagnostic Tool to check process time of a specific flow/action. If you want to check PC performance use the windows perfmon to check resource usage.
Performance Diagnostic guide Greg mentioned is great and would cover most issues.
