We are looking at similar options as well. We’ve had no end of trouble with the MC9090 series with regards to time out issues when using RDP. It seems there’s no end of bugs and compatibility issues there with the different versions of windows mobile, CE etc... I think the days of trying to run RDP clients on small devices like intermec, and Motorola are getting to cumbersome and don’t provide the flexibility and scalability we need. An no offence against Epicor, I don’t think are adequately supported from a technology growth standpoint. We are definitely looking to abandon those types of platforms for something else..

Subject: [Vantage] Epicor 'handheld' or rugged Windows tablet ? (...and Epicor 10)
I'm looking into possible options to improve our material management / stock control in Epicor 9 and of course one route would be by using 'handheld' and suitable Windows CE based devices / Remote Dekstop Services, however technology keeps moving on and devices such as this...
http://www.motioncomputing.com/us/products/rugged-tablets/f5te#prod_overview
... are available at prices that compare favourably against handheld Windows CE devices and we could run the full Epicor client on them.
I was wondering if other Epicor users here are also considering their options, and if they are would they go down the handheld route or use a rugged Windows tablet device ?.
Also as we'd be a greenfield site for such technology I've got one eye on Epicor 10 as it's now almost available, I've seen no mention so far of 'handheld' and it's implementation in Epicor 10.
Thanks.
