Epicor 9 - On Hand & Available quantities incorrect

Good Day Dale:

Call the helpline, but................

The conversion program is 6430 " correcting balances............."

But be careful. We first ran it in 9.05.601B and it corrupted as
many records as it fixed - a know bug. So, we had to get the 'new'
version.

For details: we ran the 6430 in report mode and got 48 pages of
errors, ran in fix mode and got 48 pages fixed, IMMEDIATELY ran in
report mode and got 44 pages of different errors. So, test first.
New version worked fine and report mode afterward was no pages; but
we seem to generate about 5 pages of errors a week.

Most errors were allocated or demand not being correct, but far more
important was the QOH in Warehouse did not = QOH in Bins. Fortunately we
generate very few of those errors except the first time which was after
Migration and 5 months of LIVE.

The QOH error always had our company name print on two consecutive
lines. that is helpful in looking for them when you are dealing with 48
pages - but even if consecutive lines, it still might not be a QOH error
- but numbers are right there.

In a previous posting, some users were running it daily or even 3
times a day.

condition?

We are seening the same issue with version 8.03.407B.

Hi All

Quite a lot of people have issues where from time to time (or quite frequently)
the On Hand Qty minus the Allocated Qty doesnt equal the Available qty.

I have an example where there are 20 on hand, 2 allocated but 17 available.

This happens quite a lot and the only way to notice it is to actually manually
check the figures.

I know there is a conversion program that we run regularly, but surely an MRP
system should keep track of the stock & allocations correctly (afterall that is
one of the key roles of an MRP/ERP system).

Has anyone come up with something (BAM/BAQ/BPM) that can be implemented so it
will alert you when the On Hand Qty / Allocated Qty / Available Qty dont make
sense? To save us checking every part in detail?

Has anyone sucesfully logged this as a bug in Epicor? They have told us its not
a bug. How it cant be a bug is beyond me. If it happens to lots of people and a
conversion program had to be written to sort it, how can it not be a bug??

Thanks.

We are on 9.04.506a and we are seeing something kind of similar on the
Sales Order Entry screen.

In our case, the available quantities are off.

For example, if we create a Sales Order and add a line for a part that
has zero on hand, the line will show on hand as zero and the available
quantity will equal the quantity of the line rather than a negative
number.
