Epicor 9 - help with GL

We had to Verify GL Balances (General Ledger / General Ops) when we had a problem with our balances being off - had converted from 8.03. If you run that make sure everybody is out of the system. You don't want any GL transactions happening when it's running. Your database, number of transactions, and hardware all impact the time it takes to run. We have a large database on beefy hardware and it took us just over 2 hours, same process in our test environment took 8 hours.

We have the accountant here to close last quarter. I am trying to print out the Trial Balance. Not all my accounts are showing plus it is giving weird balances to accounts like sales and retained earnings. It looks like it is totaling things as far back as 2003! Has anyone had this issue? I check our totals by comparing the GL when we got our database back and it looked fine. Now I have this issue and I am puzzled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go into your COA and look to see if there is a button on top which says Balances need to be re-run.

go the verify balances under General Ledger - General Operations

Does it have update required showing? If so run this process. This check the balances are correct.

You can always run it even if it isn't marked Update Required - might be worth copying to test first and checking the result

If I go into Verify balances it says Update required. Would that be what you are referring to?

Also, because you said some GL accounts are "missing", run the "Rebuild
Display GL Account" process after the update is done.

Brian.
