[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
We are working on converting our data to 9.05. When we run the data upgrade utility, we get an error:
"Non-recoverable database conversion failure. Your data is probably corrupt. Please contact support."

Searching through previous messages, we found this topic:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/vantage/message/110618

Our network administrator tried rebuilding the indexes, but we still get the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Austin,

We're doing the same upgrade, actually starting at 8.03.305K (Progress). Exactly when are you getting the message? What steps have you completed successfully, and what causes the error?

Are you doing this in-place on the same server, or are you moving to a new server as well?

And what version are you starting out at?

Thanks and I hope I can help,

The error occurs after the schema change from 804 to 904- when trying to open the admin tools. Prep for db is completed on server 1 db then backup to server 2, Run upgrade tool schema change from 803 to 904 that finishes ok. When trying to open ugrade admin is when the error occured.
FYI- i have restarted the conversion from the begining and currently running the upgrade admin tools schema change. So far it hasnt given me an error. will see how this one goes.

On a side note-- I have also tried converting right from 804 to 905 the schema change finishes ok but when go to open it with admin tool for 905 the window comes up that says the db is still ver 804. So I ran the schema change again and got the same message. I guess it doesn't like skipping 904.

If you're on Progress, you might want to try a Dump and Load on the 8.03 database. Did you do a COS/WIP Capture before backing up the 8.03 database? Are there any open AR or AP Invoice Entry groups, or open user sessions? The Schema Change doesn't really mess with the data, it mostly changes the structure of the tables. It's the Automatic Conversions that rock your world.

If you're on SQL, surely someone out here in Yahoo-Land can recommend tools to see what the problem is.

And if all else fails, you can always call support (did I really say that?)

What i ended up doing was starting over with the process, I am now past the point where I got the error, but.. now the UOM conversion is failing. I did end up calling Tech (arghh) and they said - "oh ya this is a known issue" known to who?? Anyway i have to wait for them to send a fix.

I was able to use data upgrade utility to get 8.03 on progress through the 9.04 part and through  the 9.05 schema change. I start admin to do the conversion, It shows the uom conversion screen and then the screen disappears, nothing in the log -waiting on Epicor Tech....

ok, will try that.... very frustrating-you would think they would update the installation instructions from time to time ???

Our company is in the beginning stages of conversion between Epicor 7.2.03 sp5 to 9.05.604. I am experimenting with building subassemblies in the Engineering Workbench, and have discovered that the part search appears to overlook hyphens. Is there any way to force part search to recognize hyphens?

Why do you remove the UOMDB? If you get it setup ahead of time with all the
correct data, then you don't need to manually do it again when you run the
conversion process, and it saves a ton of time, especially for go live.

One thing I discovered is that for EACH testing pass, the Data Upgrade
utility needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled, and any surviving copies of
the UOM database (named UOMDB and in a couple of places) need to be deleted.
The UOM Conversion Program does not overwrite previous instances.

I put it in my checklist to remove the DUU wayyy early, and then install it
again AFTER I'm ready to go with 8.03.410.

ok, will try that.... very frustrating-you would think they would update the installation instructions from time to time ???

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
That would be easier... but the users are actually correcting some of the more egregious errors in their current 8.03.305K (and there are some pretty gruesome ones), so I'd just as soon take the time to do it with each pass.

Good thought though, and one I'll keep for future reference.

Thanks!
