I can define it and define the FKV but when I leave the customization and exit the program The Like Column Value is missing and consequently the FKV is no longer valid.

Has anyone else run across this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes Trying to do this in 701 and I can't get them to work. Using the add UD as a child wizard does appear to work though.

You have to set the link in the Extended Properties in 700 because the old
method is broken.

Steve,
I tried using extended properties, but just couldn't get it to work.

Here is what I am trying to do. Just a recap.

On customer form I want to link a person contact record on a new tab.
On the new tab I want to include one field that held the perconid (thinking of using number01). Other fields on the tab would just be read only display of the content from the percon table.

At this point I get confused.. Do you set the like up on the percon.perconid field or on the Customer.Number01 field. Once I get the link working correctly I assume I can then add extra fields on the tab that will display information from the PerCon table?

Cheers

First create the link between in the extended properties between the
Contact.PerConID to percon.perconid.

Then edit your customized screen and the foreign key view from the
Contact.PerConList to the percon.perconid.

The Number01 field should now be available for selection when adding a field
from the toolbox. The only thing is I have never linked between a list so I
do not know if it will pull in all the percon data.
