Epicor 9.05.603 and OpenEdge 10.2a

They messed up the license key on that and did not include it.

If you log on to EpicWeb, browse to Epicor 9 - Version 9.05.600 - Third
Party Products - Open Edge

In the base open edge folder, you will find the keys for all of them for
download.

The 64-bit version does not have a PET to use, but when you install the
32-bit version on another server so you can use the Admin Tools, you can use
that PET to access it.

Subject: [Vantage] Epicor 9.05.603 and OpenEdge 10.2a

I have been testing Epicor 9.04 and have decided to upgrade my testing to
9.05.603 since we will probably be going to that version when we go live
with Epicor 9. I have installed Windows OpenEdge 10.2A 64 bit on a Windows
Server 2003 64bit Standard server. However, after the install I don't have
a progress explorer tool. I was given to understand the normal Progress
Explorer tool would not install or work under a Windows Server 2008
environment but that it would work fine under a Windows Server 2003 so I was
surprised when it did not install.

The 9.05.603 install instructions from Epicor said to download the
OEM102A_nt64.exe file in addition to the OpenEdge service pack 3 and the
hotfix, with the OEM102A_nt64.exe being the open edge management tool.
Everything was going fine until I went to install the OpenEdge Management
tool and it required a license key to complete the install. As far as I
know I don't have a license key and was never sent one. Has anyone run
across this and if so what was the solution?

I did notice on the 9.05 DVD there was a Win32 install for the OpenEdge
Management and it had a license key file. I tried installing this on a Win
XP 32 bit machine; however, it would not install stating that OpenEdge 10.1c
must be installed. If it weren't for bad luck I would not have any luck at
all with this installation.

I would appreciate any help I could get on this.

Thank you in advance,

Progress in their infinite wisdom chose to make what you are describing a "feature" of the 64 bit install. The Progress Explorer tool and a few others are only available when you install the 32 bit version. To get around this we have installed the 32 bit version of just progress on another machine and have disabled the service. From there you can launch the progress explorer tool. In addition the machine where you install the 32 bit version will need to be the server that runs any and all conversions as there is currently no 64 bit version of the conversion utility.
