We also had that issue. I found out, at least in our case it was all caused
by the default printer in windows. Basically Crystal will try to format your
report to the specs of your default printer when you select print. So if
you have a report that is formatted in Crystal to print on legal paper for
example but your default windows printer can only handle up to a letter
sized paper the print will fail. When you do a print preview it ignores
looking at your default printer and that¹s probably why it displays and then
you can print.
One or two suggesting for you. Before you print your report, set your
default printer to a printer that you know can print this report. Setup any
landscape or portrait settings at the same time. Then try to print. If it
does, in your Crystal report under page setup you can try checking the
flag ³no printer ( optimize for screen display)² and see if that solves your
problem
