[Epicor 10 or 10.1] Hardware Specs Feedback

Hi - we use windows remote desktop and we have that connect into a separate server from our Epicor server.

Sarah
Anyone Running on 10.1 or 10 willing to share their hardware specs?

We received hardware recommendations (and quote) from Epicor for 10.1, but we would like a sanity check. We have no experience yet in an SQL environment and have heard mixed information. (Currently we are on 9.05 / Progress.)

On 9.05 our progress db is 10 gb.
We have 2 companies, one in Mass and one in Chicago -> Epicor resides in Mass and Chicago connects thru remote desktop.
We have 20 concurrent Epicor office licenses and another 20 MES licenses. Licenses are always all in use we may be adding a few more.

We currently only run the basic Epicor application, no add-ons and no plans to add-on (no enterprise search, no APM, no insite, no web services, nothing extra)

Server recommendation/quote specs from Epicor are below - does this look like enough based on what other are running?

Dell PowerEdge R630
-ERP10 MediumÂ
1 x Intel Xeon E5-2667 v3 3.2GHz (8
cores)
64GB RDIMM, 2133MT/s
2 x 300G 15K SAS, 6Gbps - RAID 1
4 x 200G MLC SSD, 6 Gbps - RAID 10
Broadcom 5720 Quad Port 1Gb NIC Daughter
Card
iDRAC 8 Enterprise
Dual hot plug power supplies, 750W

Appreciate any feedback,
Sarah

Based on your user volume, DB Size, it should be fine.

We would personally add 2 more SAS drives to RAID together for a secondary storage area for backups and other files that don’t require high speed access.

However, in terms of Processor, RAM, and the 4 drives to put the DB and application on, it looks good for their size.
If you were going to have 30+ Epicor Office users, we would suggest an additional pair of SSD to separate out some of the DB/Log/App files from the rest..

Sarah,

Question about your remote users using RDP.   What solution are you using to allow remote users to RDP to your machine?  Windows or Citrix?  Is this a separate machine that the RDP connections are hosted on?

Thanks,
