We are currently running epicor on a VM with both epicor and sql on the same VM we are experiencing really poor performance on our epicor client despite our server VM being way above the specs epicor recommend.
Although the documentation mentions it is possible, it is best practice to run SQL and Epicor on different instances.
Either way, be sure to configure the memory usage of SQL. It will take all of what you allocate, so keep this in mind. Is your database quite large?
