Also check the user setup. Each user needs the username and domain setup.

Ensure the windows account you are running the Epicor replication service with has access to the newly created database. I suspect that this is what your problem is.

You need to check this in SQL management studio. Security->Logins.

Has anyone had any issues setting up the server connection when trying to install Enterprise search?

I keep getting a error saying that a connection to the sql server can not be opened. I select the hostname as the server name and I am using windows authentication.

Thanks

Make sure that SQL is set to use SQL and Windows for authenticating.

There are steps 3 and 4 in the Install guide that I am not sure how to do any input?

Thanks

3. Create a new Epicor 9.05 database for use as the subscriber database. To do this, use the default SQL script
located in the directory where your Epicor 9.05 application server is installed. For example, use \Epicor
Software\Epicor905\server\sql\Epicor905.sql.
4. Use the Replication Management Console to add this newly created database as a Functional subscriber.
Review the Epicor Database Replication Installation Guide for additional information.

3. you create a “blank” db with the SQL script. Use \\SERVERNAME\Epicor905\db\newdb\backup “Epicor90564.SQL”

You need to use the one in the backup folder because it is newer than the one in the folder above it. You can open this form SQL management as a query. Execute the query.

4. once you create the DB, you should be able to get to this step. (assuming you have Sonic installed)
