Enhancement Request

Please call Epicor and tell them you would like to Request #10610MPS.

This request will allow a company to multiply the burden rate with the crew size. I know this only effects certain companies such as ours, but this would increase the efficiency of our company and of 14 other companies that are now on the list.

The greater number of people that is on the request, the more of a chance the request will go into the system.

Epicor said it would be difficult to provide becasause data collection does

Call back tech support and ask them why they added 10 character, 10 numeric,
5 date and 5 logical fields in the LaborDtl table in version 5.1

I turned in a suggestion 3 or 4 years ago to add "Access" to the
Job-Operation VB form from the D/C screen. My assumption was that what you
want is to program some extra fields for D/C ---- relative ---- to the Job
Operation being reported against.

Or, they could add the fields to the "LaborDtl" record if they wanted to
add the functionality based on the specific "Instance" of D/C.

Or, they could get really fancy and give us several buttons depending on the
level ( JobOper or LaborDtl ).

I suggest you call Mark Pladson directly and have a chat with him about this
directly. It can be done. Don't take no for an answer so easily. This
should be VERY easy for EPICOR to do. It's not like you are asking them to
recode the EDI module in order to make it more user friendly.

No matter how you look at it the answer from EPICOR should NOT have been
that this would be "Difficult" to do. There are, in fact, a number of
tables that already exist that they can link to.

The reality is that no matter how difficult it is, if enough users want it
then EPICOR should at least consider it. Therein lies your real battle.
You should also ask Mark how many users you need to get to call in for
EPICOR to seriously review this request.

I see the problem Vantage has with this request:

At the screen where I want this button, there is no underlying table. The
Vanatage Basic screen could only be used as a gateway to other programs via
Push buttons and the RunProg command.

Since widgets on a VB form must be tied to an existing table, (untying is
another worthy enhancement, but I won't go into that right now), we could
not put any Character, Date, Integer, etc. fields on the form. But it would
allow running a progress program, using the identity of the current user,
which is what I want.

Just thought I'd clear that up...

Why
not make the VB Form available in that table visible in Data Collection...or
