I am researching in the customization user guide how to change the default layout of the Active Home page. I can change it for my user, but how do you change it and deploy it to all users. I am still researching but I thought someone on here may have already completed this before. Just curious.
There is a way to save your layout as a Template. Epicor ships functional group versions today but you can create your own and I believe they are assignable by user.
Yeah I have found that option and I have found a UI option in Company Maintenance for the home page, but nothing is available in the drop-down. I am changing my user access rights now to see that will help. I have had some user feedback stating the default layout with all of the icons are too busy. Especially for those users who have very limited rights into the software. If I changed the default layout to have no widgets and saved it, could this be the default for all users is what I am trying to figure out.
Thank you to anyone that checked into this. I did find the solution. Here are the steps I used to deploy this layout.
Open User Account Security
Select the user
On the Options tab check the checkbox labeled “Can Publish Home Page Layouts”
Close Epicor
Log back into Epicor as the user with publisher access
Change the layout of your Active Home Page
Click on the company drop down and select “Manage Your Settings”
Select “Home Page” from the list on the left
In the publish current layout section provide a name to the layout and select any security context you want to assign the layout to (I did not use the security assignment, cause I wanted it available to all users)
Click the “Publish Current Layout” button
Open Company Maintenance and in the UI Options under Home Page Layout select the layout name in the drop down list
Save your settings in Company Maintenance
Have a different user login and see if there default settings changes properly, it did for us
