E9: Question about conversion program 6430 (Recalc OnHand)

Excellent.
Thanks Miguel!

I knew there was some other program out there.
I had been on Epicor 10 just long enough to lose some of my Epicor 9 knowledge.

FixBinsAllNew.r

**DATA FIX FOR CHANGE REQUEST FIXBINSALLNEW - Development Fix Program

FixBinsAllNew.r

FixBinsAllNew.r has 3 options for running:

1. Fix Qty and enter one part - the program sums this part's transactions and updates. 6430 should be run after fixing qty.

2. Fix transaction and you will have to enter the date of the transaction to fix

3. Fix Quantities. When you select this option the program goes through and sums all transactions and updates the partbin. Then run the 6430 data conversion, which updates the PartWarehouse table so the on hand on the warehouse tab and the bin tabs in part tracker match.

**** When you run this program, please run based on OPTION 1 unless instructed to do otherwise by support. As with all other fix programs, this should be run in a TEST environment and your data needs to be reviewed before using this on a live system.

I have used that conversion many times. It seems to work well. I would recommend running it in a test/training environment then have them verify Qtys are good.

thanks

Hello,

I called support and asked the question: “Is there are conversion program or a process within Epicor what would recalculate part on hand quantities based on part transactions?”
I was referred to conversion program 6430, which I’m familiar with but didn’t think it processed part transactions. I thought it just updated on hand totals at the warehouse and plant level.
Where this program ran fairly quickly, I suspect I’m right.

Can anyone confirm?
Also, is there a program that will do what I’m looking for? Recalculate on hand based on part transactions?

There are several conversions that can address Part or some of this issue. I believe 6430 does recalc from Part Tran but you also have all those other ones. (Run in TEST First and BE CAREFUL 6430 can destroy your inventory if there are data issues)

5030Â Fix On Hand Quantity for Invalid Bins
6430 Recalculate Part Onhand/Allocation summaries
6740 Updating Plant Warehouse Records
7195 Fix PlantWhse, PartPlant and PartWhse Records
7380 Refresh PartBin Info Quantities

Subject: Re: [Vantage] E9: Question about conversion program 6430 (Recalc OnHand)

I have used that conversion many times.  It seems to work well.  I would recommend running it in a test/training environment then have them verify Qtys are good.

thanks

Hello,

E9.05.702A

I called support and asked the question: “Is there are conversion program or a process within Epicor what would recalculate part on hand quantities based on part transactions?”

I was referred to conversion program 6430, which I’m familiar with but didn’t think it processed part transactions. I thought it just updated on hand totals at the warehouse and plant level.

Where this program ran fairly quickly, I suspect I’m right.

Can anyone confirm?

Also, is there a program that will do what I’m looking for? Recalculate on hand based on part transactions?
