E9: Is there a way to update all cusomtizations on a menu

Good Morning,
To get around this maintenance headache, we call our customizations the same standard name again and again.  It has worked well for us overall.   It also allows personalizations to automatically stick.  Once deployed to all areas of the menu tree, we're good to go for future revisions.

For example, I have SalesOrderEntryCust deployed to all areas of menu.  I am ready to start using Rev. 9 of it (after testing fully in my test database, of course!!!).  I import the customization as SalesOrderEntryCustRev9. Next I go to customization maintenance, verify the Rev. 9 customization, and then delete the SalesOrderEntryCust.  After that, go to "modify" the SalesOrderEntryCustRev9, "save as" SalesOrderEntryCust and close the customization.  Once again, verify this rev 9 customization now called SalesOrderEntryCust for good measure.

We also note the current revision of the customization directly on the program first tab.

Occasionally we have had hiccup because the personalizations didn't do well with the new rev.  In those cases I try to verify individually or just ditch them and tell users I'm sorry.

I can't say for E9, but in 8.03 you have to change them all one at a time.

I have created an updatable BAQ for the Menu table to do a mass update.

I limit the menu items by using Menu.MenuDesc BEGINS and then the name of the form.

Menu.Arguments defines which customization (-c parameter) is to be used.

For what is worth you can use Process Calling Maintenance to force All PartEntry.dll to use Menu item XXX which has a customization applied.

I set one in menu maintenance and then query the menu items.  copy to the rest in excel and dmt them all back in.
