I know how to generate a price outside of Kinetic by running BOM Cost reports, looking at recent purchases, looking at AVG Cost on Part Tracker and putting together an Excel file to create my final price for a quote or sales order. I will read any tips that make recommendations in this vein, but I am looking for this instead:
Is there a module, setting, or process that will dynamically price a quote based on our cost inputs to a quote/sales order so that I don’t have to do this work outside of the system and load in new pricing / price sheets? Looking to have an easier way to have a Gross Profit margin we want to reach on a quote/sales order and have the system do more of the work to help me get there. We may be missing something easy/obvious.
Have you looked at the Quote Worksheet inside the Quote? That’s what it’s intended to do. You will have to do your Engineering in the Quote or at least do a Get Details for it to fully work, but it does pretty much what you’re asking.
I have gotten into my pilot and played with this a little and it looks very promising, I will need to probably see if there is an education/training that goes into this in more detail. The one thing that is stumping me right now is it does not seem to pick up any costs from my purchased parts - for manufactured parts using Get Details worked fine. In Part Tracker I see the material cost under my purchased part so I know its in the system, is there a process to get the purchased part cost information to load similar to Get Details under the Quote Line for the manufactured parts on the quote?
