Duplicate Part Class

Hello,

We have duplicate part classes (but slightly different names for the same thing) that hit the same GL control. (as an aside, we don’t use actual parts).

We only need 1 of these part classes. Both are tied to current and historical POs, so deleting doesn’t appear to be an option. I don’t see an Inactiavte feature.

Are there any options available to me to get rid of one? Could we somehow DMT and change all the PO lines to one Part Class and then that would free up things to delete the duplicate one?

Any ideas?

I’m curious to see if anyone has an answer to this, I also need to deactivate a Part Class but couldn’t find a way to do it. The only thing that came to mind at the time was to have a BPM that raises an exception when the ClassID was selected on a part master but I’m waiting until I could find a better solution. Good luck!

Update, I just found that I was able to hide it from the drop down list by adding a filter.

Still not sure if I’ll end up going this route but wanted share that this was another option.

Which drop-down list? On the PO entry page?

The example above is from the Part Entry screen but I’m sure it can be done on PO Entry as well.
