Hello,

I'm looking for some advice. We are starting to drop ship parts to
a third party. I have our Cust Po#, their Cust Po# and a Shipping
order # that all need to be on the SO, the Packing Slip and the Bill
of Lading. I can't use user defined fields in the SO(too messy to
add a database to an existing report and have my shippers logon thru
ODBC everytime they want to create a packer) Customer Shipping and
Bill of Lading do not offer user defined fields, but have VB Forms.
Can I report off a VB form? Even if I can, won't it have to entered
on each form - I don't think that a VB form will link. Am I just
going in circles?

We're on 5.0

Thanks for your help,
Stephanie
Stephanie,

I not certain I understand completely. I added 3 user defined Character
fields on my Sales order header. I open the Crystal packing slip report and
verify the database. These field show up as ShipDtl.ORDUDCHR1,
ShipDtl.ORDUDCHR2, ShipDtl.ORDUDCHR3. We enter the Customer specific
information at the time of order entry Sorry. I do not use bill of ladings

Stephanie, you could replicate comments, but that would not preclude
user error. I would add a user character field to the sales order, then
modify the sales order, packing slip, and bill of lading forms and add
the new field to print on them. Hope this helps,

We use the Reference line of the release to enter this type of
information and then just print it in the body of our packing slip and
invoice.
