Do parameters on dashboards have to utilize popups?

We have a few cases where there are subqueries in our dashboard query which have parameters and we’re finding the popup parameter boxes are tacky. Is there a way to tie these parameters to a field in a tracker view or better yet present a search dialog?

An example would be rolling up orders by customer and using parameters for a date range.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, that can be done.

Customize the tracker view and add some date boxes. Set their settings like shown in the screenshot.

That’s not really the same as using the parameter, it wouldn’t calculate by date range for the rollup. It would only filter the whole set.

One of the uses that I would like to see this is when you have to summarize based on the filtered set, or make a calculated field that uses a parameter.

Does anyone know a relatively easy way to put the parameter into the tracker and have the system use that instead of the pop-up? That would be awesome.

Matt that works great if you’re trying to filter the top level query in the
dashboard but doesn’t help filter the lower level query that the top level
query is based upon. To filter the subqueries a baq parameter has to be
used (in BAQ designer under Actions- Define Parameters) and these
parameters require pop-ups on the dashboards.
