Looking for DMT Templates for Engineering Workbench and Bill Of Material.
Which of these 2 templates shall have to loaded before the other.
We want to create a sales kit using the Engineering workbench.
Kindly assist.
@varanimesh , I think you’ll want the ‘Bill of Operations’ and ‘Bill of Materials’ DMTs. I load the ‘Bill of Operations’ first. This allows us to populate the ‘RelatedOperation’ field in the ‘Bill of Materials’ DMT.
@varanimesh It’s super easy to create your own template from the DMT tool. Open up in DMT under bill of operations a window and then in the lower corner click on template and select the fields that you want to edit. Repeat the same for the bill of materials. I have several templates depending on what our team requests changes for. I just store them out as tablename_function/purpose.

Hi,
I am able to enter the workbench detials using DMT template but upon loading the bill of materials no transactions are loaded.
@lindsayc @aball please assist.

The sequence to load is Engineering workbench then Bill Of Materials. Using the Engineering Workbench to create sales kit items.
@varanimesh , please clarify what you mean that ‘no transactions are loaded’. Is ‘WWDTL-PricePart001’ added to the BOM for ‘SALES_PROMO_A’ ? Do you get an error message in the DMT?
Hello @aball what i mean to say is upon loading the bill of material template no value is loaded into the engineering workbench.
the WWDTL-PricePart001 is not added to the BOM for SALES_PROMO_A.
no error is generated as well.

Is ‘SALES_PROMO_A’, revision ‘PROMO A’ checked out to ECO Group ‘PROMO A2’? Or any other ECO group?

That is what i am not sure about.
How to make sure that SALES_PROMO_A revision ‘PROMO A’ is checked out to ECO Group @PROMO A2’
Though in the Engineering Workbench I have allowed check out part field.
Open Engineering Workbench, enter Group ID ‘Promo A2’, then you’ll be able to see any revisions checked out to that group under ‘Revision’…‘List’:

What might I have missed in the workbench template.
You won’t see anything in the workbench.
When you load the Bill of Materials via DMT this is what happens behind the scenes:
- The part revision is checked out to the ECO group
- The materials are added/updated to the rev
- The rev is approved and checked back in
The only time you’ll see the rev still checked out to the group in the engineering workbench is if the the was an error in the BOM load.
To confirm if the BOM loaded correctly you can see the revision details in “Method Tracker”

I was looking into the wrong screen. The updating of the sales kit DID take place after checking via Method Tracker.
