Does anyone have the template to delete a Resource. We have a number of Resource ID with no info on them that show as blanks in the Display. Not sure what they were thinking when these were added in. I need to remove them and clean this up and looking at the DMT tool is it not obvious what I need to do this. Below is a screen shsot of what I am dealing with
Use the ResourceGroup DMT template. Open the template builder, and you will see the resource table fields at the end. Add in at least the ResourceID, along with the bare minimum fields for the resource group table. This should be enough to delete resource from a group. However…
Just like when you manually delete a resource, it can’t be referenced by a part or job method. The resource can not have any open labor transactions against it. If you have existing labor transactions (even closed ones) I am pretty sure you have to inactivate the resources instead of deleting them. You can make this easier by reassigning the resources to a special resource group that you create.
I added one called zzzOBS - Obsolete. This group holds all of the old resources our company used way back when. There had been time charged against them, so I couldn’t delete them. By inactivating them and moving them to a completely inactive resource group, I can ensure that future users will at least be notified if this resource (or group) gets placed into a part or job method.
