Has anyone been through this? I don’t see a template option for straight to partopr, partopdtl, partmtl. Do you have to go through the ECO workbench? If so what’s the over all procedure there, template for group, templates for BOO, BOM? How you do approve then check in? I have 1,800 of these to cram in. Any insight would be appreciated.
First is Revision (under Inventory > Part), then under Engineering are Bill of Operations and Bill of Materials, which will need an ECOGroupID already set up. Once those have been finished run Revision again with Approve set to TRUE.
And if your materials have a Related Operation value, you’ll have to have the operation already there. There’s a few little annoyances like that.
Rob,
My experience is that you need to follow the table structure and load these
in stages in the proper sequence.
Part master first, part plant details, part warehouse, part revision,
operations then materials, supplier part lists.
The bill of operations and bill of materials will require a ECO group to
process them.
Brad
right, master records were easy, can you use the group template to approve all, check in all?
When you use the bill of operations and materials the DMT checks them out
and back in for you.
Brad
yep, i just confirmed that! very handy, and thank you for the nudge in the right direction
Note that if you need the auto receive check box activated that is on the
part revision table and done after everything is in place. You can approve
the revision at the same time.
Brad
You use the same data from PartRev creation to approve them. Each line is a mini eco, check out, change checkin. If there is an error they get left in your eco group and you have to checkin by hand before you can fix the issues.
If you have errors only solve the first one, there are lots of phantom errors after the real error.
You can split the runs up and do multiple BOO and BOM run at the same time. I had 5 files of 5000 records each running at the same time.
thanks everyone! Very helpful info, I now have successfully imported MOM’s with DMT.
When DMT finds errors, it will keep the method checked out to the workbench. You can fix in EWB or reprocess your file after making the necessary changes. Or ignore all that and check in all methods in the EWB as-is. Standard procedure is to always check your group, when DMT is complete, to make sure it is empty.
Rob,
Did you happen to have any templates you could share? MOM is the penultimate piece of the puzzle for us (apart from despatch…ouch)
Quick question -
Is the MtlSeq value you provide honored? I recall having issues uploading via DMT and the MtlSeq would be ignored, and automatically set to 10, 20, 30, etc…
We had many MOMs that had “odd” MtlSeq values as they came from configurators that used super BOM’s, like
80 WIRE-01
81 WIRE-12
82 WIRE-22
83 WIRE-44
90 INSUL-12
91 INSUL-31
And only one of those in the 80’s and one from the 90’s would be kept.
Last time I loaded BOM’s and MOM’s (E9) sequences were all honoured.
