DMT Hangs - Stops Responding

Hi

For months DMT has been a reasonably reliable tool for loading data but for just a under week now it has been anything but consistent. DMT start loading data and then simply stops responding.

Sometimes it will load the complete file and other times it will simply stop. The on-screen Est Duration or Duration timer does not update and there is no indication of anything happening.

I’m on Epicor cloud and there is plenty of bandwidth but DMT has become intermittent in loading data.

These are not large DMT file upload (52 lines) and neither are they complex (GL Journals are pretty straight forward). And there are no customized business rules running on the way in.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Case is lodged with Epiccare.

Are you running the files from your “documents” or other synced location? Maybe try saving your DMT files to a temp folder directly on your C drive that is not synced.

I was having performance issues awhile back, similar to this… I contacted EpicCare and they told me to switch over from the DMT.exe to DMT64.exe.

You may already be using the 64-bit version… but in case, not, you could give that a try.

The file should be in your Client folder.

Hi

Thanks for suggestions.

I now have all DMT users experiencing some degree of DMT freezing regardless of file size (50 or > 1000 lines) Left long enough (overnight) they will complete but there is no screen update to give any idea of how long.

Is anybody in Australia particular those on cloud at auseastdtpilot00 having any DMT or general Epicor performance issues? (Classic / Modern is freezing up for periods)

Cheers

Did you get anywhere with this? same thing i’m seeting here now. DMT has worked ok for 2 years, now 3 days out from go-live cutover and it started playing up !

Hi Chris

Epicor eventually upgrade the performance of the Australian data centre as running a load from their laptop resulted in less than required performance.

Since then had relatively few problems.

Suggest you get Epicor support to run a test data load.
