DMT Customer Contacts with matching names

We DMTed our customer contacts from Vantage 8.03 to 10.0.700.4. In cases where there are multiple records with the same name, the DMT created a single Person/Contact record and then linked it to each customer record. In one example, the name was “Aaron”, first name was “Aaron”, nothing for middle or last name. Each record had different addresses, email and customer number. The record created has the address and email of the first imported record.

Any idea why it would combine these and how I can fix it? Assuming all Bob Andersons are the same person doesn’t make any sense.

Did you use Person/Contact Import or Customer Contact Import?
Try using CustomerContact and include CustNumCustID to make sure they go to the right place,

That is exactly how I did it.

@rapat_mark according to Epicor (DotNetIT)
“if you include PerConID of 0 it will not match or import instead as Person records.”

We recently completed a migration from 8 to 10 for 3 companies, I can confirm @josecgomez.trigemco is correct, use the customer contact import with perconID. Also Using the ConNum along with the CustNumCustID allowed for us to migrate open orders while maintaining the attached contact. Make sure you import the contact prior to importing the open transaction records.

We imported Supplier contacts separately using Perconid.

I have templates if you need any help with other tables.
