Dismantling of finished assembly

Hi All,

We have scenario that we build one assembly (Say A ) which is made of 2-3 different Sub- assemblies ( Say B , C ,D each Sr controlled) + Several raw materials ( Both Lot + Sr Controlled mixed).

  1. Sub-assemblies B, C, D are produced and used to Build Parent Assembly A. (Job Receipt to Job)

  2. Job for Parent Assembly A has now completed and closed.

Now, we have to Dismantle complete Parent Assembly A and put all the Parts and Sub-assemblies back into inventory. (Of course, only which are re-usable)

Does anyone know which is the best way to achieve this in EPICOR (10.2.200.24)?

I do not want to do simple cost /qty adjustment as we need full traceability for all the parts.

I have searched several topics but could not found any useful process.

Thanks,

V

Epicor does not have a way to do this out of the box, which is frustrating. The only way I know how to do it is a very manual workaround. You would need to create a job that has A as the material and B as the end part with a fake part number as the Salvage Material. When you complete the job, put B into stock and salvage the rest. Then, create another job with the salvage part number as the material and C as the end part and D as the salvage part. When you end the job you will put C and D into stock and now have the traceability.

And if you have the Advanced Production module
I wonder if Co-Parts might work instead of having to use Salvage?

Job Entry - Co-Parts sheet to enter the multiple parts that are manufactured through the current job?

Thank you John,

It is frustrating indeed. Such a big software which does not have this simple straight solution which is very very common manufacturing process in most of the industries.

Anyways thanks for your help…
