Hi sorry for the delay, I am on digest format
I currently have 4.0 and 5.2 running on different servers and on
multiple platform workstations (95, 98, NT4 & W2K). It looks like, to me
that, Troy laid it out pretty good for you and I don't think I could add
anything.
Just to add my experience though, I was requested to install the
5.20 client on several machines for testing to allow the largest exposure to
the people who would be using and training others with it. So, I am hoping
the 4.0 client will not be that big of a pain to remove. I am suppose to be
getting new workstations with XP on them to replace my lower end machines,
so, I may not have to worry about too many of those systems, depending of
course on when the company decides to go live. (I am only the "support
personnel" :-) )
Funny thing is I was able to install on machines with windows 95 on
them with no errors and the 5.20 client runs as well as the 4.0 does. I did
make sure that my 95 machines had at least 64 Megs of RAM, IE 5.5 and the
winsock 2.0 installed before I installed the vantage 5.20 client. (I know I
am suppose to have IE 6.0 installed, call me lazy. :-) ) The systems appear
to be working fine.
