Data Conversion via ODBC (V8)

Thanks for the reply!

Maybe I will try it in a test DB first!

I did some uploads via odbc(in access) and the part stuff worked fine,
but the customer upload populated the table fine, but now you can not
add any new customer records via Vantage. :(

Hello,

Has anyone done a data conversion to an 8.X database on their own?

We are looking to convert Parts, PartOpr, PartMtl, Cost & Quantities,
and Open A/R.

Is it just as simple as running an INSERT statement against these tables
or is it more complex?

If you have done this, any gotchas?

Thanks,

Yes, For parts things like Part, PartCost, PartWhse, PartPlant,
PlantWhse must all be populated.

If you miss items such as SalesUM and others you can cause strange
problems later on so ensure you fully test the system.
